Mark your calendars for the 2026 “Inside the Gates Home Tour” on Saturday, October 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be plenty of time to tour the homes, enjoy a delicious lunch, and visit our spectacular Boutique!

You’ll be treated to a wonderful day touring six very special homes, while also helping support the important mission of the VMA. Funds raised through the Home Tour help VMA assist residents in living independent, active, and healthy lives for as long as possible. VMA also provides residents and their families with valuable referral services for individual care needs and concerns.

Our spectacular Boutique will be open in the Clubhouse, featuring unique vendors and wonderful finds. Take a break from touring, browse the Boutique, and enjoy a special luncheon.

For Lunch Choose from:

  • Mushroom & Goat Cheese Tart – OR –
  • Shredded Chicken & Cheese Tart

Both lunch selections include:
House salad, assorted rolls, and delicious pumpkin pie for dessert!

Drop-in Flu Clinic on October 11

Want to stay healthy this upcoming flu season? The VMA and Life Plus Pharmacy are working together to keep you flu free. Drop-in, no appointment necessary! Just pop in at Foothill Center on October 11th from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Bring your Medicare card and an ID. It’s just that easy.

We’ll have a limited number of COVID boosters as well. Call Liz Adams at 408 621-5653 to reserve your booster.

Please support our local drop-in flu clinic and see you on October 11th from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm at Foothill Center!

(We wish we were able to provide shots to Kaiser members, but we can’t!)

Programs October 2026

Ghosts, Hauntings and Paranormal Investigations – Husband and wife team, Elle Noel and Jessie Garcia of San Jose Paranormal will present on Saturday October 10th from 12:30-2:00PM on their experiences and work in this field.

Anti-Aging with Nutrition – Alexa Fields, clinical lab scientist at Stanford and an acupuncturist will discuss seasonal food as medicine.  Wednesday, October 14th at 11:00 AM in the Sequoia Room.

Stay Active, Stay Independent – Modern Solutions to Back and Leg Pain – Dr. Kris Okumu, a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon will present on Wednesday October 21st at 11:00 AM in Cribari Conference Room.

Medicare Annual Enrollment – Licensed insurance agent Lucille Maravilla will discuss your Medicare options and open enrollment on Thursday October 29th at 11:00 AM in the Cribari Conference Room.

Support Groups September and October 2026

Alcoholics Anonymous: Will have a weekly meeting in the Sequoia Room every Friday from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. The next meeting October 2nd.  This meeting is open to Village residents.

 Caregiver Support Group: Judith London Ph.D. conducts this monthly group where caregivers meet to share, listen, and learn. Nextmeeting is October 15th from 10:30 – Noon in the PATIO room and via Zoom. Please contact Judy for all meeting specifics: judithlondon@sbcglobl.net or call 650-468-9624.

Grief Support Group:  Pastor Bill Hayden will again be offering grief support for those who have experienced a loss every Monday through December 7th.  The group is held in the Sequoia room from 10:30 – noon. Booklets used are available in the chapel office.

Parkinson’s Support Group:   This monthly group is for all people interested in Parkinsons. The next meeting is on Thursday October 22nd at 10:00 AM in the Patio room. No need to register; all are welcome.
