Support Services
VMA Desk:
- Answer the phone, arrange any of the transportation services we provide
- Assist Residents who walk into the office
- 2-1/2 hour shift (substitute list and/or permanent)
Computer:
- Data Entry; As needed
- Web maintenance for VMA and volunteer web sites
- Support for VMA owned computers and printers
Transportation
Medical Appointments:
- Drive Residents to their medical/dental appointment
- Mileage reimbursement is available if desired
- Copy of DMV Record is required (available online – can request fee reimbursement)
- You can select days of week (and am/pm preference) that work best for you and our desk volunteers will contact you as needed
- Time varies from 1-2 hours (depending on appointment/distance)
Medical Equipment:
- Pick up or deliver medical equipment to Villagers
- You can select days of week (and am/pm preference) that work best for you and our desk volunteers will contact you as needed
- Time varies from 20-30minutes per call
Grocery/Pharmacy:
- Drive Residents to the grocery store/ pharmacy
- Occurs Wednesdays
- Copy of DMV Record is required (available online – can request fee reimbursement)
- Time varies from 1-2 hours
Villages Events/Meal Delivery:
- Drive Residents to events happening in the Villages or deliver meals from the Bistro/Clubhouse to Residents
- Copy of DMV Record is required (available online – can request fee reimbursement)
- You can select days of week (and am/pm preference) that work best for you and our desk volunteers will contact you as needed
- Time Varies from 20-30 minutes for meals/may be longer for special events
Blood Pressure
- Open to those who are former nurses or doctors
- Check residents blood pressures as requested and/or during other Villages events
Health Programs
Represent VMA during a health screening and/or workshop. You are welcome to select the ones you would be interested in attending
- Set up room for program
- Introduce speaker
- Check in residents
- Programs range from 1-4 hours
Other Service Programs
- Charitable outreach program
- Afternoon and evening bingo
- Health festival volunteers
- VMA communications
- Volunteer coordination activities
- Support groups, e.g., Caregivers, Parkinson’s
- Flu shot clinic
- Senior resource center (SRS)
Fund Raising
- Can collection/recycling program
- Home tour
- Donation support activities
- Golf cart and car donation activities
